1. Do I have to be Catholic?

Yes, you have to be Catholic, unless you attend St John Neumann Catholic School or St Therese Catholic School.

2. Does the player have to be a member of a parish?

Yes, but they may play on a different parish team if their parish does not have a team or if the other parish is closer to where they live.

3. Who can I contact in my parish for info?

We can get the names of Parish contact people and make sure they have registration forms or at least access to them. Please send email to us at registrations@FatherPowers.org to request the specific parish contacts.

4. Can I register online?

Yes, you can register online using our Online Registation Form. However, registration has not yet started for the 2024 season.
Registration is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2024

After registration begins, you can also print a "Hardcopy Registration Form", fill out the form, and mail it to us.

5. Where are games held and how long does the league last?

The games are played at Roncalli. The league has 6 weeks of regular season and one week of tournaments.

6. Is it coed?

Yes, the league is for both boys and girls and coed.

7. What is the age group of players?

"A division" is 7th and 8th grades, "B division" is 6th and 5th grade, and "C division" is 3rd and 4th grade.

8. How much is the Father John Power Memorial basketball scholarship?

The scholarship is a one-time $500.00 award payable directly to the institution of attendance.

9. Who can apply for the John Power Memorial basketball scholarship?

The applicant must have played in the league for at least 2 years, played any high school sport (cheerleading is considered a sanctioned sport) and community and/or church involvement.

10. What can the scholarship award be used for?

The award can only be used at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or University. If applicant is attending a Military Academy other arrangements will be considered.

11. When can I apply for the Scholarship?

From March 1, 2022 through March 31, 2022 the Scholarship Application Form will be available for download from the web site. The completed application must be postmarked or delivered by March 31, 2022.
