About the Father John Powers Memorial Basketball League

The Father John Powers Memorial Basketball League is for Catholics churches and Catholic schools in Pueblo. The league is for youths ranging from grade 2nd to 8th grade and for boys and girls. The games are played on Sunday afternoons at a local middle school and the season starts at the beginning of November thru the middle of December. Before each game we say the Hail Mary prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. We promote good sportsmanship from the players, coaches and parents. We use High School referees for each game. All children get playing time in the game.

We charge a small fee on game day to the fan's watching the games to help with expense of running the league. The players are excluded from paying for entry into the game.

The league works with each church that has a team to schedule games that do not interfere with religious education. We also, require that the children are members of a Catholic church, or attend and play for one of the Catholic schools.

We are committed to the children having fun!!
